Summer Rides 2011

Ophir Canyon - near Kelly's Spring
Amanda and I had a great Saturday ride.
The weather was perfect and the canyon was beautiful, of course!
There were a lot of people on the mountain, but is was the start of the bow hunt.
We headed strait up the canyon and then headed into a canyon to the left of the one Jed and I rode in. Up at the top we were told we were near Kelly's Spring. We then rode strait south down the ridge to where the trail switched back and forth back down to the canyon we came up. Approximate 5 hour ride.

-------------------------------------------
 Provo Canyon - South Fork
Patty and I wanted to go on a easy ride.
If you stay lower, this is a nice and pretty ride.
Lots of shade and some water crossings.
We rode for about 4 hours. Not too short and not too long.
The only draw back was all the people on the trail that Friday.
Hikers, Bikers and a few on Horses.

...............................................
Ophir Canyon - North Fork
Jed and I haven't ridden in Ophir Canyon much.
I did once last October, but I'm not sure where we went
(Up to a trough to the west and then down this canyon).

This trail was beautiful. There were a lot of water crossings and tons of Aspen trees. We saw 4 other people riding that Saturday morning, but that was all. Definitely need to explore more in this canyon!

The Garden 2011

Yay, the garden is looking so good. We've been able to enjoy some peas, carrots, radishes, spinach and some early baby red potatoes.

Finally the pumpkin patch is filling in.... no more barren boring dirt! Erin's sunflowers are getting huge!

I'm crossing my fingers we will get pumpkins this year! We are just starting to get some zucchini and some squash.

Here is the little side garden. Check out the log furniture Jed made. So fun!

Timpanogos Cave Trail

We hiked the Timpanogos Cave Trail. The kids did a great job. I was very surprised especially with Emmy. We didn't go through the cave this time, we just hiked for fun. The kids also picked up Junior Ranger workbooks and they all started working on the requirements for the Junior Ranger Badge. I will have to keep you posted on their progress.

Kid Artwork

I love to see what my kids come up with all on their own.
Here are a couple of pictures they drew the other day.

Erin drew a scene from the Little Mermaid. She put a lot of detail into her picture and tried to color every inch of the paper.

Emmy drew our family. I wish this scanned in better, but it's pretty light. Check out her cute people. Of course we can tell which one she is.... the red haired one in front.

Parade

Here are a couple of pictures from last month....I know I've been slacking :)
Erin helped hold the banner for the 6th ward float in the parade. Erin did a great job even in the hot weather.

Emmy had a great time watching for her sissy and gathering candy.
