It looks like PURPLE is Emmy's favorite color.
Since her birthday, she has been crazy about purple.
Her purple balloons, her purple blankie, her purple stuffed dog....
This is the outfit she picked out to wear today all by herself.
She even picked out a purple outfit for Erin to wear.

It's Not Snowman Snow Yet

Emmy and I saw the snow and got excited because we wanted to build a snowman. But it's not snowman snow yet.

Emmy played for about 10 minutes until her little hands got cold. We can't wait to make a snowman this year.

St George Trip

We took a trip to St George. Me and my girls, Megan and her kids and Susan.

We all went to the Dicken Christmas Festival. There was a lot of things to see. We even saw our Aunt Marci and her adorable booth. Here is a picture of Erin and Emmy that was taken there.

We saw Santa and a "Live" Nativity at the Tuachan's "White Christmas in the Canyon."

The kids loved it.... especially the camel.

Emmy's birthday is December 11th, 2007

Erin's birthday is December 12th, 2002

We are going to celebrate BOTH birthdays on the 12th this year.

Happy Anniversary Jed, on Friday the 13th!

Even if Fridays are normally a good day of the week for a wedding, most couples would rather not get married on the thirteenth because that day has long been associated with bad luck.

The connection between bad luck and Friday the 13th supposedly originated in Biblical times. Jesus invited 12 apostles to the Last Supper, but Judas showed up uninvited which made him the thirteenth. Because the actual crucifixion happened on a Friday, the number and the weekday were combined as a sign of something very unlucky.

Most hotels skip the 13th floor and airplanes seldom have a 13th aisle – this doesn't necessarily prove anything except that the people responsible know their customers are superstitious.

Another modern myth about this unfortunate number claims that if you have 13 letters in your name you will have the devil’s luck. So is it a coincidence that the following characters reflect this trait?

We were not actually married on a Friday….it was a Monday. So all this superstitious talk does not apply…. Right???

Good Bye Old Girl

I was working at a Pet Store in AF in 1995 and a bunch of puppies were brought into the store in hopes we could take them and sale them. I had to turn them away... but the little runt caught my eye. I decided to keep her for my own. I took her home and told my Mom she was dropped off at the pet store "anonymously" and since the pet store couldn't take her I just HAD to take her home. That is how I got my first dog. I named her Bailey because of a cowboy hat box in Jed's closet and because she was jet black like a black cowboy hat. Bailey and I taught Dog Obedience classes in Lehi as well as volunteered for the "Utah Animal Assisted Therapy Association" where (along with my Mom and her dog Annie) we would visit Elderly Care Facilities.

Until Erin was born.... Bailey was like my Child. She went practically every where with me that she could. She came to work with me at the Pet Store, the State Park and sometimes even to the Provo Craft warehouse. She loved to go on horse rides and her name is along side mine (and my horse Concho "Bub") on many Aspen trees up West Canyon. She even made it to the Timpanogos Saddle with me. One of her most favorite places to be when we were home (winter time) was as close to the wood burning stove as possible. So close sometimes we thought she would catch on FIRE!

Bailey was tough, smart, obedient and stubborn. She was a GOOD girl...most of the time. She did hate cats and that was a challenge to keep her from killing them, but she would rival any cat in her mousing skills in her young days! Oh and don't bring up the "meat loaf night" with Jed.

She has been with us for so long (14 YEARS) it's hard to think of anytime she wasn't there. From family vacations, Fort Bridger Rendezvous, road trips to my Mom's in Idaho....to just being there at our house....curled up by the stove in the evenings.

This last year has been rough on her (and me). Her spirit is tough... her body is not anymore and it breaks my heart to watch her. I made the decision to put her to sleep today. Erin and I both were there with her to say goodbye. She rests by Beau now and the two of them can run and play together again.

Stellaluna

We went to see a play based on the book "Stellaluna."

Stellaluna, a baby fruit bat is separated from her mother before she can fly. She is adopted by a family of birds who turn her world literally upside down and teach her the essence of friendship in humorous and touching ways.
