First Day of Kindergarten

Here is Erin on her first day of Kindergarten. She said she was a little bit nervous, but when it was time to line up with her teacher... she just hugged me quick and ran right over to her class.

Home-made Dress up

I found some cute fabric and made Erin a play dress. When I finished it, Erin played in it all day long. It was so fun and easy to make. I made one for Ali too, but in purple instead of pink.

Visit with the Greats!

Today we visited with Great Grandma and Grandpa Grow. On the way to their house Erin told me that I should drop her and Emmy off to get babysat and I could pick them up later. I laughed and told her it was a visit for all of us. I think she wanted to be spoiled rotten, not just plain spoiled when I'm there with her.

Quirks...

Thinking about my quirks was hard. There are too many. I had some similar ones as Callie (Toilet Seats/Lids, Styrofoam), so I will list some that are not the same.

1. Link the person you tagged you... Callie
2. Post these rules.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag some fellow bloggers by linking them.

1. Eyeballs - Ok, so eyes are beautiful to look at, but I don't think you should touch them. Ugh, it grosses me out. I can watch scary movies, or operations with blood, but don't make me watch someone put contacts in. Jed thinks it's hilarious to trick me into seeing him touch his eyeball... Yuck!

2. Expiration dates - Aren't they there for a reason? When any of the food in my house reaches it's expiration date, I throw it away. This drives Jed crazy! It can be one day past the date... and it goes in the garbage.

3. Being late - I hate being late! It doesn't bother Jed one bit to be late.

4. Toilet paper and paper towel - When you take the last of it, please change it. But most of all, please put the new roll on the RIGHT way! So the sheets are coming off the top of the roll, not from the bottom. If I come across a roll that the sheets are coming off from the bottom, I have to change it right then. I've even done it at other peoples houses when they weren't looking.

5. I like snakes, spiders, bats, lizards etc... - I don't see anything wrong with this. Jed told me to add this one to my list.

6. I walk up and down every isle at the grocery store - When I go grocery shopping, I don't like to forget anything. Probably because I live so far away from the store. So, I make a list (usually grouped by isle) and start at one end of the store and go down every isle until I reach the other side. Maybe it's not that quirky???

Tagging: Jenny, and anyone else who wants to post their funny quirks. Callie already tagged all my Bloggers.

Bonnet & Gown

I finally finished Emmy's bonnet and gown for Fort Bridger. When Erin was Emmy's age, my Mom and I made her a leather Indian dress. Erin still wears the same dress we made, I just had to add more to the bottom to make it longer. That meant I had nothing for Emmy to wear. So I ordered a pattern for infant clothing from the 1800s... and here is the final result. I think it turned out so cute!

So similar ... So different

Our two girls started out so similar. Erin born December 12th, Emmy born December 11th and both girls weighed the same, 7lbs 4oz. They even looked alike. Both with big blue eyes. It was like we had twins, just 5 years apart. However, as Emmy grows, we find out every day that they are very, VERY different from each other.

Erin spit up a lot, cried a lot and got sick a lot. Erin was very careful and cautious when learning to crawl and walk. Erin crawled at 10 months and walked at 15 months. Erin's eyes have turned more hazel colored and her hair is brownish blond.

Emmy hardly spits up, only cries when she is hungry, hurt or tired and has never been to the doctors (except for her regular check ups). She is a fireball! She is already crawling at 8 months. Emmy's eyes are still blue, but her hair is a reddish blond.

It's been so fun to see the differences between them and it's just the beginning...........

Fish Lake Family Reunion

We arrived at Fish Lake, Monday afternoon. It was overcast, and it felt great! Erin had a crazy hairdo about 2 minutes after getting there. That night there was a talent show and Erin and Wylie sang a duet to a Taylor Swift song. It was so cute.

Emmy is such a good baby. She was happy most of the time and I think she enjoyed all the attention. We got to go out on a boat ride. Erin was so excited.... she wanted to run to the boat.

We were getting ready to go and just as we started to leave the marina, we were attacked!! A water balloon sling'n posse assembled on an outcrop in the bay and fired away! We dodged water balloons, caught some and tried to return fire! It was fun.

We cruised around for awhile. Erin even got a chance to drive the boat.

It was fun and beautiful! Later the kids had popsicles. Here is Erin, Ali and Brody. Erin and Brody's lips were crazy colored!

We all had a great time.

I hope we can go back to Fish Lake for future reunions or just a camping trip or two. It was a good trip!

Sock Girl

Here is Erin helping me with laundry. She likes to put on the warm clothes that come out of the dryer. She is wearing Jed's socks on her arms and legs and wearing Jed's shorts over her pants.

Cookies & Applesauce

Erin and I made sugar cookie dough a few days ago, and yesterday we finally made time to roll out the dough and cut shapes.

She got out every cookie cutter we have. She also borrowed letter cutters from Megan.

To keep Emmy busy and happy, we gave her an applesauce cup.

She was covered in it.

She was having fun.
