Vacation - PART 6

We also went to La Jolla Cove.

I think this is a fun picture of Erin. She loves to pose for pictures.

They had part of the beach closed because the sea lions were sleeping on the sand.

We stayed and watched the sea lions for quite awhile. They were so cute, especially the babies.

Vacation - PART 5

We had a BEACH day. We played in the ocean and sand at Newport Beach.

Even though the water was cold, Erin loved it! She gathered up a lot of sea shells too.

Emmy had a blast digging in the sand, filling up her bucket and pouring sand all over herself.



Hey, you can't go to the beach and not bury someone!

Vacation - PART 4

Then next day we went to Seaworld.

We saw the Shamu show and Erin and Grandma and Grandpa saw the Dolphin show (Emmy was asleep).

Both girls loved seeing all the different kinds of sea creatures.

Erin especially loved when she could touch them.

Grandma made sure Emmy got a chance to touch too.

Seaworld was fun and of course was one of my favorite stops.

Vacation - PART 3

We took a scenic drive through wine country.

We stopped at a vineyard called "Longshadow Ranch" which still use draft horses to harvest their grapes.

The vines were trimmed back for winter and hadn't started their new growth yet. I bet it is amazingly beautiful here when the vines have all their foliage.

Vacation - PART 2

We went to the Oceanside Pier.

It was pretty windy and a little chilly that day.

We walked down the pier. At the end there was a diner called "Ruby's" where we had apple pie.

Jed, Charma, Erin, Emmy, Jack and Debbie.

Erin was posing for her pictures and Emmy was looking for things to pick up.

It was a fun day.

We are back from vacation.

PART 1

During the last 10 days, we have been on our first family vacation. Grandpa Jack and Grandma Debbie helped make that possible by letting us stay with them in their time share condos. We had a busy 10 days... starting with the San Diego Zoo, a scenic drive to wine country, Seaworld, a visit to the beach, Disneyland and California Adventure.

We took a LOT of pictures. Here are a couple of my favorites.

We all had a great time at the Zoo. It was a lot of walking because it was so big and there were so many animals to see, but it was worth it.
